      Not sure, lots of shuffling – I was really glad to see Freese back with NIN though – he did an excellent job on stage in Chicago.

      I can understand that drumming can be an upper body workout, but maybe some drummers can explain why it’s more demanding on your hands than, say, playing a guitar? Do the drums send back a lot of energy thru the sticks? The quote from the guy who needed to ice his hands after a set surprised me.

      I was only able to read the section available on “reader”, so forgive me if it’s explained later in the article

      Playing any instrument can be more physically demanding than people realize, especially drums.

      Paywall is blocking me but I know lots of Rock and Metal musicians in general are signing up and playing for country artists because the money is just better. People have to make a living and in North America country musicians make great money compared to Rock and Metal artists.
