Did he campaign on it though? I remember before the election he was asked about various confidential files and whether he’d release them, he said yes to all but the Epstein files, he said he wouldn’t release them because it could hurt some of the people in them, I’m paraphrasing of course.
That’s weird since Trump was a registered Democrat when Epstein victim Maria Farmer told the FBI he ought to be looked into in 2006

I guarantee you 90% of his base won’t make the connection that these Epstein files he is calling a hoax are the same ones he promised to release. Or if they do make the connection they will just instantly rationalize it away. Like „Oh the files used to be real but now the Democrats corrupted them so it’s a hoax now.“
