    1. Good.

It’s crazy to me how American redditors place no value on their own borders/citizenship. If I went to Mexico or Canada illegally, and I get arrested, I don’t deserve any special „rights“, I get deported. Why is it different for us?

So, their solution to „We don’t want you here“ is „here’s food, water, shelter and you can’t leave“?

Lmao, imagine some court in brussels deciding who you have to let in and who not.

Until now, migrants whose asylum applications were rejected had 25 days to leave Greece voluntarily.

      What a joke

    4. Imagine if it was the USA with this policy tomorrow, do you think people would take this new law well? But apparently when Greece does it, it’s acceptable?

Only Libya & the eastern med sea stand between Greece & Sudan which is in a civil war, so potentially 1 million sudanese genuine refugees could claim legal asylum in Greece. I don’t think the international asylum system was ever envisioned to overwhelm a small country with mass refugees from another culture. Greece needs to get tough & ignore Brussels & push these boats back to Libya.

    6. That headline is such ass.

„Under New Law, Greece Can Imprison Rejected Asylum Seekers“

„Under New Law, Greece Can Imprison Rejected Asylum Seekers who don’t leave within 14 days of rejection“

Feels like a pretty big component missed out

One of these laws where you figured it would always have been like it. But alas, no. Better late than never.

Someone comes to you, desperate for help. And not only do you say No, you throw them in jail? What kind of wannabe American police shit is that?
