      Those 3 movies are almost like documentaries about the true nature of reality. The Truman Show shows that the insanity in the world is on purpose, The Matrix shows that the world is a simulation and They Live shows that the world is run by non-human entities.

      It seems like the non-human entities (They Live) are acting as agents (The Matrix) to mind-control/contain humans (The Truman Show) from manifesting intentionally in the simulation.
