    1. For conservatives who hate being compared to Republicans and trump they sure do love to copy the same playbook. At least make it look different

Even with rightful criticism to crown royal all i see is them mimicking the maga crowd.

    2. What’s next? Is he going to mandate New York Fries to be called Ontario Fries?

This really reminds me of those Americans who smashed bottles of French wine to protest the French just prior to the invasion of Iraq.

    3. The ones that hate it, hate it. The ones that love it, love it. Either way, you’re riled up, and you’re paying attention. This is populist politics. And it’s why Ford is polling 53% in Ontario because he’s Captain Canada until further notice.

It’s the equivalent of a suddenly patriotic politician draping themselves in a country flag, which I find corny as hell no matter who does it, but it works.

    4. Ford:

      >“A message to the CEO in France: you hurt my people, I’m gonna hurt you. You’re gonna feel the pain in February when these people don’t have a pay cheque.“

John D’Agnolo, president of Unifor Local 200:

      >“I’ve talked to the to the Ontario government and I’ve told them you need to take the alcohol off the shelves because this can happen to anybody,“ he said. „It’s Diageo right now. It could happen to any company. You gotta to make a statement here. Enough’s enough.“

Windsor West NDP MPP Lisa Gretzky, on Facebook:

      >“If the bottling facility closed and jobs shifted to the U.S., leaving no Ontario facility and hundreds of Windsor-Essex residents out of work — eliminating good paying jobs that support workers and our communities — do you think Crown Royal should be pulled from the shelves at the LCBO?“

Reads to me like there’s a strong possibility of Crown Royal being omitted from future LCBO orders unless Diageo reverses their decision.
