Nice way to start a Tuesday, Glinners being arrested just brightened up the over cast day 🙂

    2. >“If a trans-identified male is in a female-only space, he is committing a violent, abusive act. Make a scene, call the cops and if all else fails, punch him in the balls.“

Pretty clear cut incitement tbh. If he’d stopped at „call the cops“ he probably would’ve been fine. Couldn’t resist though. He never can.

One of the tweets. Crazy that you can be arrested for saying stuff like that. I completely disagree with him but it’s a bad precedent

„My blood pressure was over 200 and I was rushed to A&E“

Well, the good news Graham is that you won’t have to deal with trans people very soon. The bad news is that it’s because your brain’s capillaries are going off like popcorn.

    5. „Ted, didn’t you say Glinners had trials at Liverpool?“

„No, Dougal, I said he was ON trial IN Liverpool“

The man is obsessed with trans people, to the extent he’s lost his career and spent more time tweeting that interacting with one of his children on Christmas day one year. I think its a real lesson in online radicalisation.

Agree or not, with this surveillance bill around the corner, this could be you and it could be a private message to a friend as a joke, this is a slippery slope folks and you all know it.

    8. Fucking clown world.

The guys is a douchebag. But these laws are absolutely insane.

Christopher Hitchens would be rolling in his grave.

I love the shade being thrown by the Met:

      >The writer said after questioning by police his blood pressure had reached „stroke territory“ and he was taken to hospital and kept under observation

      >… a spokeswoman said: „… After being taken to police custody, officers became concerned for his health and he was taken to hospital. His condition is neither life-threatening nor life-changing.“

Just a terminally online drama queen.

There’s something very wrong with this man. Never seen someone torch their personal life, career, reputation and any shred of good will so comprehensively, and all just to feel the dopamine hit of a few social media likes. He’s a great example of how social media has warped some people’s entire perception of reality. He can’t back away from it now either because that would mean admitting he destroyed his life for nothing.

The title is a little reductive. He wasn’t simply expressing his views,he’s allowed to express a controversial opinion. He was inciting violence so it’s completely justified.

“If a trans-identified male is in a female-only space, he is committing a violent, abusive act. Make a scene, call the cops and if all else fails, punch him in the balls.”

Linehan is a twat but this is state overreach and gives him exactly what he wants. Give this guy another more BS to write op-eds about and more fuel to talk drivel on podcasts about.

Incitement to violence seems like over kill to me, it might be off taste but could be read as an off color joke like. I understand being offended but I don’t think this is an arrestable offense. Looking at this honestly was there really intent to stoke violence here.

Not sure what to think of anyone supporting arrests for the likes of this. Feel like some people are really gone mad.

    13. This lad has turned into a more famous Enoch Burke. Just absolutely sick of seeing his face and name mentioned

    14. GreaterGoodIreland on

Regardless of what you think about the issue, this guy spends way too much time thinking and writing about it… Self-destructing your life over a single political issue you have no real stake in is kinda mad.

    15. StayUpLatePlayGames on

This is going nowhere. Waste of time and makes rights activists look daft. It’ll be used as a precedent that someone talking about violence “didn’t really mean it”.

    16. The man has been „cancelled“ and has still regularly been invited to a bunch of podcasts complaining about it, he is outspoken to the point where people just don’t want to work with him and he is just targeting the trans issue like that was the reason. If he shut the fuck up he would still probably be working but the whole crybully shit is boring as fuck.

    17. Gordianus_El_Gringo on

I think he’s an absolute twat with his opinions but I am extremely concerned that someone can be arrested due to some tasteless but relatively harmless posts on twitter.

    18. I genuinely do not like the UK’s hate speech laws and I think they go way too far with it, but this guy needs to get a grip. He’s spent a career’s worth of influence and goodwill on hating a tiny minority of people.

    19. In UK you’re named if arrested…..in Ireland you can only be name until you’ve appeared in front of a judge charged with an offence.

I kinda prefer the Irish way.

    20. DontReportMe7565 on

Why would you ever go back to that no free speech hellhole when you know the likely result?

    21. This would feel more meaningful if they weren’t the same police that changed Kneecap and arrest everyone at a Palestine march

    22. Glinner has went off the deep end and his fall from grace is well documented but at the same time arresting people for Tweets seems dystopian no matter how you cut it.
