I expect a cavalcade of American voices talking about how easilythe American militarycan run roughshod over smaller countries and how Maduro is a bad guy, so it’s fine anyway.
Ignoring hundreds of thousands dead at American hands because of other such „easy“ and „just“ adventures.

And it has nothing to do with drugs or migration and everything to do with Venezuela having the largest oil reserves in the world

Same thing Venezuelan’s would probably be seeking if they still had real elections.

It would be easier if he just handed the keys over but doesn’t look like that’s the way it’s gonna go for the people.

If we take out Maduro then Trump will finally have done a single thing I’m happy with.
Stay strong Venezuela! Arrest Trump! Release the Epstein files! Prosecute on the evidence!

„regime change“ sounds good. Didn’t the Venezuelan voters try to do the same?

I don’t like my country doing this *yet again* in South America, *especially* under this orange asshole directing things.
…
However, I do know conditions inside Venezuela are pretty bad right now. The people have lost their capacity to self-determination in much the same way as the Russian people and the Chinese people.
People have been fleeing Venezuela for years now… and I do know hard-left American progressives have been calling those who flee “selfish ladder-pullers” because they aren’t supporting a socialist government.
And I do distinctly recall the Venezuelan opposition calling repeatedly for regime change and begging for American assistance some years ago.
So… at this point, it’s a bit difficult to for me to oppose regime change specifically in Venezuela now, especially with how poorly the people have been suffering and have been trying to escape the dictatorship. This would play quite well into a humanitarian cause.
I just really, really, *really* hate that Trump, of all people, is gonna be the one leading the way on this. He represents the absolute worst qualities of Americans.
But, it seems like Trump is becoming one of those persons where the idiom “a broken clock is right twice a day” applies quite well to him. For all the absolute stupid shit he says and does, occasionally he makes a “good” move.
Him ordering our military to topple the Venezuelan dictatorship is likely to provide a net benefit to the region and give new stability, especially if the Venezuelan opposition takes charge post-Maduro.
Maybe it’ll be one of America’s better cases of intervention
In South America… like that of Panama, Brazil, or Columbia.
