If that is not an attack i don’t know what is then

Everyone is afraid of a hot WW3, and while it’s right to avoid that, it’s not right to allow Russia to attack the West through influence, propaganda, undersea cable cutting, GPS jamming, etc. without consequence, and purely financial responses aren’t deterring them.
Eventually influence campaigns get the job done, seeding a societal cancer that eventually kills the host. We’re seeing that today across Europe and in the US.
Russia only understands force.

So let’s see now what the response is to endanger the life of the EU chief…

This sounds like casua belli. In all seriousness, these kind of actions need a response.

I’m done with my country. As a Bulgarian I can tell you what the Facebook comments are saying: „Stupid old bitch, Putin ain’t gonna spend time on you“, „That’s what the eurogays (yeah, that’s a thing here) deserve“, „Why didn’t they just shoot her down?“.
Bulgaria is a society that’s miraculously I’m Europe and NATO, but tbh we don’t deserve it the way majority of the population behaves

Here’s what’s going on. Russia is provoking a response but if Europe responds then Trump will claim they weren’t attacked so no NATO article 5 protection. Europe is doing well at continuing to push forward and support Ukraine whilst not falling for these traps. The response from Europe would likely be much stronger if they had an ally in the White House

Jamming/spoofing near air corridors gambles with strangers’ lives. Whatever flag you wave, that’s the line.

Putin better be prepared for a strongly worded letter from the EU and a gift of undying friendship from Trump.
Oh man, he is so fucked…

Time for a statement which condemns the act but stops short of a response?
Worth noting that this is right on the Black Sea and has been one of the most jammed places on Earth for a good few years now.
Russia is definitely the one doing it, but it’s not really an area that I would expect to be clear at the moment in general.

The EU is a joke. I had the hope that „We“ as Europe would be strong and independent, but as it turns out, we’re just idiots bowing to dictators. Enjoy your lives before it’s too late, guys!

This is a known thing forme all long flight pilots, flighting above borders of Ukraine ans Russie, you love GPS signal.
Not a problem for all commercial flights but when it hits a political figure, that’s another story…

This is quite a badly written article from a journalist who knows nothing about flying.
GPS jamming is common in Eastern Europe because of Russia, and pilots have multiple ways of navigating. GPS isn’t even the primary method, most planes use an IRS/INS system which is more accurate than GPS. Pretty much every flight, and there are hundreds a day, plan for GPS jamming in the region.
While not cool of Russia to be doing this, it’s not exactly an act of war, and the Russian propagandists calling for all our war between Russia and the West need to educate themselves.
Of all the horrible shit Russia does on a daily basis, this is near the bottom of the list.

I’m amazed aircraft (and other critical systems) are still so reliant on GPS. I used to work in the electronic warfare world and recall attending a conference where one speaker described how easy it was to jam or spoof GPS signals and stressed that it mustn’t be totally relied on – and that was OVER 20 YEARS AGO!

Can we start jamming glonass already?
