Breaks with democrats??? Are dems not supporting their own candidate against that snake?

Edit. It says some days are hoping for Janet whoever to enter

    2. I wonder what the source is on „others in the Democratic Party“ who favor the 77 year old governor. Also worth remembering: Bernie Sanders is not a Democrat.

Who the fuck is a Democrat and endorsing Republican Susan (maybe he’s learned his lesson) Collins? This is a stupid article, and surprisingly because The Independent has been a pretty good independent read. She’s a geriatric leech.

Edit: meant to stick this in, wish he was in Washington.

“Nothing p***** me off more than getting a fundraising text from Democrats talking about how they’re fighting fascism…Because it’s such bulls***,” Platner wrote on X. “We’re not idiots. Everyone knows most of them aren’t doing jack s*** right now to fight back.”

Fuck yeah. As a Seattlite I endorse this message.

Isn’t that the point of being an independent? You don’t have to toe the line…especially when the line has lost its fucking marbles.

Poor choose of headline, makes it sound like Democrats are supporting Susan Collins. The article claims that other Democrats are pushing for Janet Mills to enter the race against Collins but then can’t name any of them…

    6. Why the fuck is the DNC in favor of dimwit Susan Collins? Oh right, they suck at absolutely everything

He didn’t break with democrats, democrats broke with him 10 years ago

    8. Janet Mills is too fucking old! End the gerontocracy! Donate and vote Graham Platner to end Collins reign of Concern!

    9. The author of this article is trying really hard to stoke controversy where it doesn’t exist. The election is far out, this no-name guy entered recently with no political background, and the article states that people are waiting to see if a former governor enters.

Also, regardless of anyone’s politics, the candidate in question was just trash talking the party. No matter who you are, you should not expect nor deserve any endorsement from those who you insult. That’s just common sense.

Incredibly stupid move, starting his campaign by burning bridges with his allies. Not a strategy that wins elections, and definitely not one that gets anything done in government.

If he were okay, he would have LEAPED to the microphone on every news broadcast to bash us evil democrats for celebrating a rumor about his death. There would certainly at minimum have been a press conference about it.

The fact that neither him, or his press secretary, has really said anything, tells me something is majorly up.

The same former Marine oyster farmer who is polling 16 points ahead of Collins?

And you wonder why people are sick of the democrats we back the 70 year old this is how we want to project our self’s when do you learn that there are more young people than old

He’s not popular, he’s completely unknown in Maine. Any popularity is a result of big money marketing for a week.

Wonderful picture choice.. Aaaanyway, we need unity in the Democratic party that goes both ways. Progressives show up and volunteer when the establishment is the candidate after primaries, they need to do the same, and stop forcing unpopular ill advised candidates on us to hold onto their power.

The last thing Maine needs is for this to be another proxy battle between Sanders and the Democrats. Millions of dollars of out-of-state donations to support a candidate because of vibes and an endorsement from Bernie Sanders.

Do you want another John Fetterman? Because that’s how you get another John Fetterman. What do you all really know about this guy that makes him qualified and trustworthy?

    16. Bernie isn’t a Democrat. He’s basically a do nothing politician from the liberal equivalent of a flyover state that says a lot of popular things without ever having to do them.

    17. Krunkledunker on

Bernie says the most important thing the bought and paid for democrats won’t say… again.

    18. I’ve lived in Maine since 2020 and I’ve been disgustingly sick of her since 2018. I happily approve of the endorsement, but I’d much rather vote for a literal oyster over Collins.
