Im Grunde sind Sie also verändert, wenn Sie keine Clubkarte haben. Saugt für einen Touristen, der etwas Grundlegendes abholen will. Zahlen Sie fast 7 € für eine Schachtel Basic Müsli.

    1. I’m in the UK and shopped at Tesco all the time, did a big shop one week, forgot my club card. Fucked off and never been back since.

And this is why I just google „Tesco clubcard“ and use whichever scanned card comes up first. If they want to try and fuck me over, they can get fucked right back.

    3. If anyone wants to use my mams clubcard please send me a message, I’ve given it to a few people that don’t have one.

If they’re too expensive the own brand ones are grand and cheaper. So the fictional tourist will be fine.

I agree OP that their difference in price between club card holders and non holders is ridiculous. It puts me off Tesco entirely.

Needs to be legislation brought in to combat this shite, one price, what you see is what you pay.

    7. This box isn’t “basic” it’s a big family pack. If they want cheaper get the smaller packet or the Tesco brand? People love to moan on here!

I used to go to Tesco occasionally. I didn’t have a clubcard soon after they started adding this “tax”. I couldn’t just get one in store or register online to get a virtual one. I didn’t bother and have never been back since.

There’s no real reason not to have a Tesco clubcard, it’s very easy and straightforward to get that discount. If you don’t have one you can literally download the app and get it immediately while in the shop. You can also use any clubcard if you’re concerned about data, there are reddit threads where people have shared their clubcard and you can get the discount that way. 5 seconds on google and you’re sorted.

It’s a lot better than Dunnes who charge you 25% extra over the real price on everything if you don’t go every week and spend the correct amount. I’ve stopped shopping in Dunnes because of that.

    10. Stopped shopping in Tesco in 2003 when I learned the owners were funding illegal settlements in Palestine.

It’s actually gotten to the point that it’s been effecting economists and their tracking of food prices.

While there is a cost of living crisis, it’s not exactly as bad as the reports are saying, as they’ve been taking the €7 Rice Krispies price

    12. An older person couldn’t have a clue about how the club card system works, really unfair. Fuck club card bollox

    13. Tesco deliberately raises prices just for Ireland.

      Tesco „Treasure Island“ „tax“.

I don’t know how any right thinking Irish person with a reasonable alternative would ever put money in those English pockets.

I occasionally give my clubcard to shoppers who ask. I get my points – they getting their discount, but I agree the „tax“ is ridicilous

    15. Don’t shop in Tesco

Their prices are shite. They’ll start to learn when everybody stops going.
