The self-proclaimed prime minister of the Houthis was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Thursday, the Yemeni rebel group confirmed on Saturday.

Ahmed al-Rahawi was among several leading members of the Iranian-backed group who died when the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) targeted Sanaa, the capital of the war-torn country on Thursday. The Israelis said at the time they had attacked a “military target”, but did not give any further details.
