      Lol, I live in Oregon where there is *only* mail in voting. I’m not sure you could go someplace and cast a ballot if you wanted to. There are drop boxes at the post office or whatever, but there’s no „voting booth“ you can walk into and cast your ballot.

      More unconstitutional „orders“ that exist only to undermine the election itself.

      When I voted this election I thought it was actually a thing. The poling place had the drivers licenses scanners you see at blood draw centers, so I handed my license to the poling volunteer and they looked at me like I was crazy.

      I was born and raised in Idaho so I already did this unfortunately. It wasn’t until I moved to Washington that I learned it isn’t like this everywhere. Mail in voting is way more efficient. I don’t have to get confused after walking into the wrong voting location for may address, even though it’s closer to my address, then walk around confused over at the other voting location looking for the voting area within that location associated with my address. Massive time and energy waste for everyone.

      Like to see the fucker try. Elections are held locally either make rules and HAVE everyone follow them or shut the fuck up. You can’t pick and choose the states you want to punish for doing the exact same thing as others states.

      I’m tired of this. Executive orders can only be used to carry out existing laws. They cannot create new laws.

      Living in Washington nearly my entire life, I can’t imagine how stupid people are. But then again, I can.

      When I moved to Virginia in 2012, mind you, it was still very much a battleground back then.

      To get my ID, I had to provide proof of residence (lease, utility bills). Multiple forms of ID (WA drivers license, original birth certificate, SS card) and proof of employment (paystub). Yes, 6 forms of identification and proof of residency. SIX.

      I was still found to have “too many irregularities” to be registered to vote. Of which I would’ve still had to go in person. With my Virginia ID, that I got by proving who I was six times over.

      Other people have already commented about the unconstitutionality of this executive order, but to be more explicit:

      The Constitution very explicitly delegates (Federal, and at least Legislative) election regulations to the States (overrideable by Congress). Specifically the Federal Executive Branch has no say in elections. That’s the main point of Article I Section 4:

      If SCOTUS manages to uphold this order despite the very explicit text of Article I, that’s when we know (even more assuredly than we now do) that SCOTUS has been politically captured and is therefore illegitimate

      All my life, I voted in MN. I never needed to show an ID. Republicans like to live in fear.

      I’m in California where you don’t need to show ID. I only recently learned that MAGAs actually think you can just waltz into a voting place and grab a stack of ballots. Fucking morons.

      And reminder that voter fraud is almost non-existent, it’s election fraud where all the fuckery happens.

      We already have voter ID requirements. That’s why the DMV is the one asking you if you want to register to vote or change your party, because they have all the ID already. Everyone gets one vote that is registered to their ID, that’s it. It’s a pretty simple system.

      My issue with the media – Earlier in August, Trump pledged to issue an executive order to end the use of mail-in ballots and voting machines ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. However, federal elections are administered at the state level and it is unclear whether the president has the constitutional power to enact such a measure.

      You all, still, comment, act and assume there will ever be another election. There certainly will not be another fair and open election as the international community judge them.

      The grand experiment is done, as is „the light on the hill“ the USA used to be an emblem of. You Americans now live in a kleptocracy, all that remains is whether it turns into an Autocracy or a Theocracy.
