That whole ecosystem is a mess. The government should be using the legislative tools at it’s disposal. Break up Canada Post, change the mandate, enforce accountability. I see they’ve now contracted with a company in Utah to manage processing tariff charges. How much competition went into that bid and what Canadian companies were considered?
Both the union and the management in this organization are out of control and it needs to be brought back in line.
The demands of labour unions are getting out of control and their militancy is becoming worrisomely. The workers in Canada are no longer even grateful to to their employer for employment and their demands have become unreasonable.
Public workers are by far the worst of the bunch because the government refuses to put them in their place. They are taking their job for granted, and this is allowing them to get out of line.
Just last week they were disrupting essential services and refusing a back to work order, and because the government caved to their demands and appeased them, the workers have become emboldened. Carney is allowing labour in this country to become embroiled and disorderly.

Oh that is a hilarious request from the corporation. If there’s anything that shows the corporation won’t negotiate in good faith, it’s this. They are bold to ask for more time to review the offer, when [they refused to extend that same curtesy to the union](https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/canada-post-cupw-offer-1.7540053).
Canada post should just be run at a loss and if thats what it takes to pay workers fairly for a vital public service. Raise taxes on the very wealthy to pay for it and slash the pay of those at the top. This is not complicated.
