Despite the high-profile Trump–Putin summit on August 15, no deal emerged, with critics blaming Trump’s erratic style and disorganized diplomacy for derailing meaningful progress.

      There was never going to be any deal without Ukraine at the table. This nonsense narrative that Trump was “doing a deal” where the outcome was certain because he said so is irresponsible and dangerous.
