I think this is true, I just hope they’re able to leverage into constitutional and electoral reforms oriented around better governance and more effective representation and not random bucket list stuff that will give the traitor repubs power again because it annoys enough people.

Tough to do if every state actually gerrymanders as much as possible, but that probably won’t happen. In any case, better than doing nothing.
The first step is to actually get it passed in California. I’ve received three anti-Prop 50 mailers already and absolutely nothing from the pro side. Get the message out, Gavin.

The rules have changed. It’s not that the republicans break the rules anymore. It’s that there is a new set of rules and democrats need to start playing by them immediately. Stop trying to fight the good fight and start fighting to win. Fuck.
Dude, that war passed a decade ago when Democrats withdrew from all of the „unwinnable“ red states and took the „High Road“.

Hit the GOP where it hurts most and crush MAGA once and for all! The alternative means the end of the United States. This is a fight for the bare existence of the republic.

If dems dont take the house I pretty sure democracy is over for the US.

Gerrymandering is absolutely terrible for representation. I’m glad they’re fighting back but holy fuck, why does it have to be in the most regressive *least democratic* way?

I think there was a high level look at this a few weeks ago and it ends with like +7 for republicans if every state (that can) went as aggressively as they could.
But… maybe moving away from first past the post voting should also be a priority?

And they need to 1) packing the fucking SCOTUS and 2) carry out trials and consequences.

When you come in for a queensbury rules boxing match, and your opponent is using mma fighting rules, there is no honor in losing to a cheat. You have to fight the same fight, using the same methods, your enemy is using, if you want a chance to win.

How do you think Texans will react to this??

Dems need to fight for the Republic. We are condemned to use the tools of the enemy to defeat them.

Listened to Nina Turner yesterday say that this is a terrible idea and that we need to organize a general strike. I am amazed that even after 8 months of this hellscape (and 4 years prior as a appetizer of this insanity) that people like her still don’t get what’s happening and how to fight back. Gavin is far from perfect, but at least the guy gets the moment we are in. Stop disarming yourself and pushback against this shit before you end up asking whether your local gulag has wifi so you can still tweet later.

A possible outcome from this could be the Republican judges getting scared and declaring both Texas and California’s maps unconstitutional and abandoning the whole “gerrymander brown people out of existence” strategy.

Just think of it as a cold war between two fundamentally different world views. This is what America is now, deeply unfortunately.

Let’s keep going. Let’s gerrymander this right down to a true democracy where each voter is a district unto themselves and we will finally have a true democracy.
