Watermelons here in California are now 11 dollars each. I bought them two months ago at 6 bucks. This isn’t a seasonal price issue. Who would have thought that arresting and intimidating farm workers would drive up food prices?

A bottle of olive oil in 2019 cost $6.99. Between the pandemic inflation and now the tariffs, the same bottle costs $13.99 in 2024. Billionaires don’t care because no change in food cost will affect them. I don’t recall the military have any major raises in this time period. Those families will struggle. Teachers will struggle.
