Putin will never meet with Zelenskyy as long as he thinks he can win since this defeats the entire point of the Russian internal propaganda campaign, painting Zelenkskyy as inferior. Showing them both on the same level (or even showing Zelenskyy as what he is, a much more competent leader) is something Putin will never agree on as long as he thinks he can win this or outlast Ukraine.
You just know Zelenskyy would be gazing steadily at Putin, who would not be able to withstand it and would avert his eyes.
Bla bla bla… Putin do not need to meet Zelensky, for what for? Putin need time and less help for Ukraine especialy from USA while Europe cannot provide a lot and effective weapon and looks on USA in that question.

I wonder if Putin had applied any secret „treatment“ to Trump (using one of the secret service tactics) during the meeting, as Donald looks quite wasted in the recent days.
Zelenskiy recently got into arguments with Trump and nothing happened, that’s why Putin is even more afraid. Zelenskiy didn’t even apologize to Trump, but Graham told him to mention it in a X/Twitter post. Putin attacked Ukraine because he thought Zelenskiy was a clown who would not resist.
Putin is hiding behind conditions because he knows he can’t justify his war.
A meeting precludes doubling down as a realistic option, which is the only item in Putin’s playbook.
