The IAEA’s director Rafael Grossi is under 24/7 protection in Austria after intelligence warned of an Iranian threat against him.
Iranian officials and media have openly threatened Grossi since the June Israel-Iran war, accusing him of spying for Israel and calling for his execution.
The threats followed an IAEA report accusing Iran of undeclared nuclear activities, which led Western countries to consider sanctions.
Despite a ceasefire, tensions remain high as Iran continues to resist full nuclear inspections.
