Donald Trump could give a rambling press conference about how he is an expert linguist, fully nude except for wearing underwear as a hat, and nothing would happen except a flurry of articles about the newest trend in headgear and speculation on what other languages he knows.

As a Californian I have to say I’m not a huge newsom fan, but, since 2016 I always said the only way to beat Trump was to use his same tactics against him.. the little name calling, the bullying, associating terms against him, I remember watching all the first debates when he ran and I remember thinking, why does Hilary think that scoffing and not getting dirty works? It makes her actually look elitist, and plays into his hand.
School yard bullies were always easy to deal with for me: look how ugly this is, look how stupid.. just reduce him to soundbites to his face the same way he does to everyone else and watch him implode.
Finally a politician got it.
