I’ll never understand why provinces are so invested in fighting bike lanes. Why not let the cities govern the cities?

      >Jeremiah Rawling started a petition against the bike lane going into his Delton neighbourhood and said his concerns raised with city council have been ignored. “If we had been consulted and the majority of residents in this neighborhood had voiced that they wanted them, we wouldn’t be here,“ Rawling said. “But we weren’t consulted. The city consulted one per cent of the population six years ago and that’s their justification.“

These people will never have any complaints about cars going through their neighbourhoods, which are infinitely more dangerous, loud and polluting than bicycles. But god forbid somebody wants to paint a stripe with some curbs.
