If people are complaining about fake news on immigration from African nations, what would they think about this. This seems like a real news.

    2. If this is some kind of „student exchange program“ where kids from Japan travel to India for 3 months or whatever, and vice-versa, I’m totally on board with that. Those programs are really valuable for kids.

    3. This is slightly an old news. Since the days of Abe, Japan is trying hard to bring Indian labourers without much success. But now that the whole of Europe and North America is mostly closed for Indians, I believe finally Japan will be successful, at least to certain extent in the coming days. So brace for another wave India phobia in Japan!

What’s the point of just increasing the numbers?

Prime Minister Ishiba isn’t thinking about anything at all.

I mean, Indians speak English and many seem to have decent enough Japanese. I don’t see any other groups learning Japanese en masse like this.

Lol, gotta say it was a bit surprising after landing back in Japan after a year or so away, and all the staff were South Asian.

Globalism is not slowing down. Sorry to all the bigots. It’s like all those sci-fi movies, we can’t advance as a species without unifying Earth first. This has been the trend for 1000s of years – as the population and telecommunications increases the more we’ll mix together. Honestly this seems like a great thing. Like in the UK many people from the Middle East moved there and have incororated their way of life there, even coming together electing a mayor that agrees with their way of life. We could be getting very rich and diverse Indian communities to Japan. I’m looking forward to going there and enjoying there and the cuisine!

    8. Mmm reading more into it, sounds like 500,000 people would be some random wealthy kids doing club activities together etc. Typical “feel good” nonsense?

    9. Mmm reading the whole article, sounds like it will be some cultural exchange bs? Like those town events and fares. If so I think nobody benefits so much from it but perhaps some corporation uses the fund to arrange curry festivals or whatever… I’ve been to many “cultural event” supported by the government and they were often pretty much empty.
