TFW, international student employment, and other non-citizen levels of input into the workforce need to be severely curtailed. With housing, services, and work being routinely more difficult to find for Canadians, something needs to give and it shouldn’t be citizens.
I know someone running a clinic and they only posted a receptionist job the other day and already have 80 applications. Its absurd.
Carney/the Liberals are extremely lucky that Trump got reelected, because people forgot how bad the economy was *before* his election, and this has been the case for a LONG time
The conservatives have switched their messaging, it seems to focus on immigration with the TFW program and the number of asylum seekers and PR, just means there will be a lot of pressure soon on Carney to do something about it and with the majority of Canadians wanting it drastically reduced, they would be smart to do something
No one likes the Temporary Foreign Worker Program/LMIA Process apart from businesses looking to exploit foreign workers for cheap labour and further weaponize that exploitative framework against the fair and honest bargaining power of all working demographics.
That whole program and ones like it need to be scrapped.
It’s becoming quite frightening to be honest just how much of a Corporatocracy we live in.
They have purposefully diluted the labour force to drive down wages. Companies also deny local applicants so they can use LMIA to abuse foreigners.
the federal government is eliminating tons of student and predominantly-young term/casual positions so this is not super surprising
