Between this and the police breaking the law to fudge crime stats during the last election, it’s no wonder Vancouver feels lawless at times. It starts at the top.
People of Vancouver – Don’t brush this off. If Sim can’t be accountable now, imagine if a real scandal, or something serious occurs.
Wow, first off, Sunset Laws do NOT cover informal discussions so this Ethics Commissioner is just full of shit on that point.
The idea that council members can’t talk to each other outside of official meetings is just fucked up. They’ve made it clear that no decisions or conversations about policy are being made in these communications.
Like seriously, does this person expect them to meet up every single time one of them wants to talk about their city???
This commissioner sounds more like they’re on a power trip than anything else.
You want to see what real closed door bullshit was like, just look back at the previous mayor and city council for Langford BC…
