      These tech giants rake in global profits without paying local taxes. If U.S. leaders want fair trade, they shouldn’t bully democratic economies but push for global tax reform instead.

      So, what stops USA tech companies to impose additional fees in countries with digital tax? Europe don’t have any alternatives.

      Awful policy.

      Digital sales tax is a tax on revenue, not profits. The tax rate sounds small, it is not.

      Hypethetical.

      Company A monetizes their service by selling Ads online. If they sell $100 in ads online and the cost to run their service, IE labor, infrastructure etc. is $90. The company makes a healthy 10% profit.

      If that $100 is taxed, they are now making $7 instead of $10. That is a 30% tax.

      This is just going to lead to higher prices for consumers and polish customers being forced to directly pay for what were previously free with ad services.

      This will be a highway robbery by the government. Here’s what will happen..

      Gov will keep the digital tax.
      Business will collect the tax from customers.
      When time comes for the business to deposit this tax to gov, US will interfere and threaten with Tariffs.
      Gov will back down and cancel the digital tax.

      Here’s the catch.
      Remember businesses were collecting this tax from customers….. Customers will not receive a penny back of this cancelled tax!!!

      I would argue that best strategy is to make Trump feel awesome with endless ass kissing while doing something underhanded to hurt his supporter base. Unless of course your domestic politics dictates an openly adversarial stance for you to get elected

      Poland is slowly becoming a very strong and diverse economy that will literally need nothing from the Americans, I applaud them for the direction they are taking.

      Hopefully this sparks urgency for the EU to find some common ground amongst themselves to develop something to replace the American tech giants.
