They’re really not subtle with any of this are they? Like you’d think you’d wanna brainwash people, not do it so blatantly
It’s funny how the government tells us constantly that they have no money yet whenever they want a new multi million pound mass surveilence system theres always cash.
Reddit: I’m depressed because no one cares about me!
Also Reddit: the Government is spying on me and wants to get me, because they realise how important I am!
Stuff like this is sad but inevitable because no-one wants to pay more tax and pay for a functioning society, especially those most able to. Much cheaper to pay for this than to invest in actual policing.
If it’s solely used to catch criminals and terrorists then I’m all for it personally. Obviously it needs to be written into legislation, HMG can’t be given a free rein to use it for whatever they want.

Most of the comments here are stupid. Theres two quotes that i know but dont remember who said them, but „i rather have liberty with danger than peace with slavery” and „those who would trade liberty for security deserve neither.” So many people willingly want or dont care that the government is trying shit like this because they think that 1. It will be used for good. 2. The government or other powers won’t misuse it. 3. They think that the government will not use it on everybody, because „if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear” as if this isnt being used on everyone and wont be used to censor those the government or others dont like for whatever reason. The OSA is the same, they lie about a reason when infact, its already been used and will be used to censor what the government doesnt like, like information on Corbyns new party. Of course, for saying all of this I’m gonna be insulted for any possible reason they find, called paranoid, etc.
Not an issue with it as long as it’s just monitoring for known criminals in a database.
Who would not want them off the streets, relying on the memory of a police officer seems pretty old fashioned
I wonder how they’re going to recognise all of our faces. Wouldn’t have anything to do with all of the face scans that we’re uploading in order to save the children now would it?
