      This is obvious. People look after themselves first and foremost. You want a rich democracy, tax the rich and give it to the middle and poor classes.

      The rich want all the money. Then the rich want to pass that down to their family. If they can pay people less by cutting their benefits they will. Or replace them with AI. The rich fix leaks or trickling money.

      Tax the rich. Help the working class. The rich will STILL be rich and live in a better US.

      The only people who can possibly say they are beneficiaries of trickle down economics are those who can capitalize on their attractiveness and compartmentalize long enough to squirrel away a chunk of money so they can move on to something else.

      Enforce a wealth cap, and it might just work out that way. No point in execs stealing every penny they can from the employees because they’ll have to be taxed down 20 million (for example). So might as well share profits with your workers.

      But who am I kidding? No politician would pursue that with any hope of success.

      During the Eisenhower administration, the middle class thrived because of 91% tax on the wealthy. Eisenhower built up our education system and started the interstate highway system for the great infrastructure of our country. Unlike Eisenhower Republican since him have cared more about the wealthy than they have the middle class.
