tldr; BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) has become the largest known holder of Bitcoin globally, surpassing major exchanges like Coinbase and Binance. IBIT holds approximately 781,160 BTC, compared to Coinbase’s 703,110 BTC and Binance’s 558,070 BTC. This shift reflects growing institutional demand for regulated financial products over traditional exchange storage. Analysts note IBIT’s inflows are causing a ’supply shock,‘ reducing Bitcoin’s circulation and stabilizing prices. BlackRock’s total crypto holdings now exceed $100 billion, including significant Ethereum assets.

So what happens if BlackRock gets hacked? What’s the Systemic Custodial risk at this point of all these big institutes with large bags?
Not sure anything could actually happen, bit its kinda interesting to think about.

It’s amazing how little people know about both BlackRock and Bitcoin in this sub.
„Oh no 51% attack“. Is that all you know? „Oh no 5G antennas!“. Give me a break and educate yourselves. I don’t always comment here but this comment section is ridiculous.

They’re just a depository, making money from holders for secure custody, they don’t own it and they’re not a BTC Treasury Company. But, it’s allowing far more ordinary people to own BTC in a safe manner, and I’m sure that is what Satoshi did want to happen!!
