Putin compares himself to Peter the Great. His initial goals were to replace the Ukrainian government with a Russian puppet government. Anything less would be a failure on Putins behalf. He’s at the end of his life, so now he focuses on his legacy, which to me means the war continues until Putin achieves his initial goals.
Zelenskyy’s demand for pressure is the only thing Russia understands right now. NATO and the US need to get involved.

Zelensky’s demands are the ones that are actually maximalist & insane. He, along with many other people in the American congress, media, & with links to the military industrial conflict are making money off this war. That’s why they don’t want a real peace agreement.

I think the signals Russia sends is that they don’t give a fuck about real negotiations so the sanctions and everything else are ineffective. He s doing a mockery of peace talks especially with extreme maximalist demands like territory claims to areas they haven’t conquered. Pressure is not going to do anything without major crackdowns on everyone buying from Russia.
As with all previous dictatorships the Russian version will eventually bite off more than it can chew. Slava Ukraine.
