I don’t think he and the CPC are worried. If these voters were willing to vote for his party before, they’ll be willing to do so again if he gets his message and campaign right.
All this does is tell him what his areas of weakness and opportunity are. A talented politician can work with this fairly easily, as he showed in the past.
PP’s problem is exactly as the article says: hardcore CPC voters back him for sure, but he doesn’t need to win over those voters to become the next PM. And the people he does need to win over (moderate conservatives and swing voters) find him unpalatable, especially compared to the right-of-centre current PM. He only worked as a foil to the left-of-centre JT, who is now long gone. He’s in a can’t-win position and will be an albatross around the neck of the CPC if they keep him around as leader.

This is pretty evident though , Pierre is obsessed over by his base and but not viewed favorable by the center right at all .
Alot of center rights will still vote for him for a few issues like gun control and pipeline lies but there is a pretty substantial number of people I know in my circle that are watching Carney right now with interest.
Pierre success is never attributed to his success, his success its dependent on the opposition failure . This still rings true with Carney .
I imagine none of this matters to the CPC, even Poilievre’s own electability numbers. The battle lines are already drawn, and the participants are dug in. If I were a CPC strategist, I would say it’s just a waiting game at this point.
If I were a strategist for any other party, I’d start considering how the CPC might try to change the rules of the game itself once they get into power. There has been a worrying trend of the right of late of undermining the democratic process itself and, while I’m sure a both sides argument can be made I’m sure, one side seems to feel more brazen about it lately.
I supported Mr. Poilievre and want the country to shift just a few inches to the right. The day after he wins his bi-election however he puts a post out supporting that nurse with the $94k fine over Trans comments. After 6 seconds of research i found that it was irrelevant what the nurse said – it was the fact that she said it professionally as a nurse and not personally. You cannot do that – on any political side!! So, Pierre isn’t worth my time – he is shown that being an opposition leader (to Trudeau!) is all he will ever be and that he doesn’t know how to be serious about brining the left back to the center. Can we PLEASE get a serious conservative who isn’t angry and bitter.

Does it not indicate a problem that Conservatives had to find a spot for Poilievre where there was absolutely no competition for him. He already lost an uncontested chance at the Prime Ministerial position while Trudeau was in power which showed that his work undermining Trudeau and convincing liberals a new leader was needed. Unfortunately they did not see him as a better option. The better option emerged as Carney ( more conservative than liberal) and Liberals were fine with that! Rather than continue with his own selfish personal goal, maybe PPshould trynto work with Carney to strengthen our country. It would do wonders for his image!
