SS: In eastern Rafah, the Abu Shabab clan, an anti-Hamas group operating in an IDF-controlled zone, has opened a school for over 100 children, teaching lessons in pluralism, tolerance, and human rights instead of PA or UNRWA textbooks.
The clan has also built basic civilian infrastructure, including water, electricity, and a medical center, for thousands of displaced Palestinians, though it is accused of looting aid and has a murky history of crime and alleged ties to Israel.
Meanwhile, in central Gaza, a separate initiative led by Palestinian American Dr. David Hassan with Israeli NGO support has opened a school for 600 displaced children, modifying PA textbooks to remove incitement.
Both efforts aim to provide education free of Hamas influence, reflecting attempts to promote alternatives to hate-based schooling in war-torn Gaza.
It’s insane how this guy is being completely whitewashed to further Israel’s goals. Completely reveals the depravity of Israel and the western media to anyone who cares to look up Abu Shabab themselves.
This is probably the only realistic way to achieve if not peace at least some kind of unfriendly truce. Hamas continuing to control the strip is obviously a no go, a direct Israeli occupation is a huge mess for everyone, UN occupation would be laughably useless, and occupation from other Arab countries is unlikely.
