Edit: the Article states he „transitioned“ in 2024, the SBG that now regulates this became official in 1.November 2024. In my memory it was new year 2025, because we normally push any work that requires psychiatric, administrative or judicial involvement to the next Year. These institutions will just not do anything when its „close“ the Christmas Holiday and will just put it in a Drawer and forget it, in my Experience.

I worked with People who were denied because the Paper from their Psychiatrist wasnt filled out perfectly and this piece of shit is approved even tho he publicly called transgender people parasites, among many other things like dressing up like a Nazi, just a short time before his „transition“. That dude is a criminal and fashist for over 30 years.
No wonder that politicians can steal 530 million or even 30 billion € taxpayer Money without any prosecution and still become Chancellor in this fucked Country.
Just curious if anyone agrees with this self ID approach or what level of transition would be sufficient?
Like would it be more acceptable if they had transitioned medically (hormones), surgically, or just socially (clothes, makeup etc)?
Or if none needed, then why have different prisons for men and women at all?

German Law stipulates that the prison facility must examine whether a „misuse“ of the right to change one’s legal gender has taken place and make a decision in which kind of facility to put the person. It’s a case-by-case basis and you don’t automatically get into a women’s prison by changing your gender.

This article is bullocks. No, the law does not make it easy to cheat your way into women’s prison. It is a case-by-case decision.
This person also sues people/newsletters which deadname or misgender. I’ve heard its over 500 cases now and if you’re unlucky you have to pay a fine up to 1000€ for deadnaming/misgender lol.
It’s so crazy that i refuse to believe this is real life. It has to be a feverdream where i’m in a south park episode or something.

The fact that this stunt might genuinely endanger German trans women but likely spread to other European countries is easily shown by the fact that people in here fall for it.
Now, from what I understood, the article is misleading and she(I will use she/her for her even if I believe it’s just to threaten our rights and get a „lighter“ sentence) is actually going to be in solitary confinement but the problem is that people only read the headlines nowadays.
The more time passes, the more unsafe I feel. I wish I wasn’t trans.
All I see is a bunch of people trying real hard to justify how this wouldn’t be a very predictable result of dumb policies. You will see this more and more. If I was arrested I would do this 100%. And since I don’t even have to actually do hormones or anything, then I would go to a soft women’s prison and enjoy the perks.
