I wish the K-pop band NewJeans hadn’t committed career suicide, because this would have been marketing gold.

Gap has always been inclusive, long before it being a thing.

Don’t pee on my leg and tell me it’s raining.
Ad campaigns take months to complete and Gap had this in the pipeline long before the AE fiasco. This has nothing to do with AE

God has always ran inclusive ads.
Edit: GAP not god JFC

The videos for this are really well done, too. This would be a banger campaign even if it wasn’t for Syd-gate, and KATSEYE being insanely popular rn.

Do advertisers really think we give a shit about this stuff? It’s just cotton pants made in China. All from the same factory too. It’s a self-created controversy.

Did anyone actually care about the Sydney Sweeney ad? And if you did, don’t you have like, something better to be upset about. Our government is fucked and the entire world is trying to make it even harder for you to do anything without them getting involved. And you’re getting mad over a jeans ad?

You have an ad about inclusivity but then don’t include the group you’re accusing of “dog whistles” and “eugenics”? All I see is mistake after mistake with these companies.

I’m old. Never heard of Katseye. But this coincidence, 2 denim ads coming out at the same time, one irritating and stupid, with the terrible copy delivered with Sydney Sweeney’s irritating vocal fry or whatever it is, in jeans that don’t fit her, and one fun, sexy and diverse, with denim that fits – is a marketing win for the Gap.
I’ll bet the sales numbers will reflect that.

Once again these idiots never considered their audience. They wanted to capitalize on white nationalism and now us mommies that are educated and give a fuck about others will take our very much higher salaries somewhere else. Damn, Abercrombie looking better than American Eagle or are they still gonna tie up for ways to blow your market share. Hello Gap, let’s see if you can get some cooler designers

Everyone’s like GAP is the best brand ever obviously! But weren’t they just selling Kanye merch?

People are still worked up about this, it’s just jeans people, relax.

Funny. I seem to remember Reddit and various left leaning folks saying they didn’t care about the ad and the controversy didn’t actually exist. Yet here we are.
