If Europe was too scared of escalation to send tanks and missiles for a year, why on earth would they move into a direct war with Russia within 24 hours of an invasion? Absolutely no chance they would do this. Utterly absurd.

    2. Ukraine deserves full NATO protection, not just a Plan B that leaves it vulnerable to slow decision-making.

Unless boots are stationed there, it’s a false sense of security. No credible way to be confident the response would happen. This is only credible if these countries station troops inside Ukraine. Move the US and British bases from Germany to Ukraine and Poland.

What if all the countries works together and destroy Russia Putin ☠️ except South Americans countries coz he don’t have the power 😂😂😂

    5. I really hope that isn’t what they’re pursuing for a peace plan. Green men appear, start shooting people…then the security signatories spend months hashing out who these green men are, setting up commissions to get to the bottom of it all. Meanwhile, the green men are reinforced with others, start taking over government offices….security countries, well maybe these are Ukrainians unhappy with their government.

Nothing less than troops in Ukraine, on the ground for these countries guaranteeing security. And they should be near the front line as a deterrence

    6. Again? They were still invading during the peace talks. They haven’t stopped.

    7. Can you imagine battle-hardened Ukrainians fighting side-by-side with fresh Italian troops?

      „Lorenzo – you didn’t bring-a the risotto!“

    8. Anything short of a DMZ with several garrisons on the Ukrainian side is just an empty promise.

So 24hrs to ignore to play the blame game and ultimately decide it’s not their problem right now.
Exactly the plan we expected from Trump to present. Putin has seen how inconsistent and slow Europe has been so he knows he can keep pushing for more.

Empty words as usual. Giorgia is such a coward in international politics, she could really have an impact and yet she prefers to have generic pro west (= pro total alliance with the US) stance, rather than an independent one to piss off nobody.

    11. iknowwherewallyis on

They have no troops there as it is lol what a joke of an empty threat

    12. dustycanuck on

How about NATO just bomb the fuck out of any future Russian incursions into Ukraine? Get the boots off the ground.

    13. Psychological-Bed543 on

Why don’t we just fucking give Ukraine there nukes back? The USA has the ability to give them 100 nuclear warheads and provide them with the resources, expertise, money and staff to maintain them till they can do it themselves….

All parties would be pleased, Ukraine gets a security guarantee to make sure Russia won’t try shit, Russia gets to brag they won because Ukraine didnt join NATO and the EU, the USA/EU dont have to put troops down and risk political backlash….

    14. x_cLOUDDEAD_x on

By that logic, why was/is the current invasion ok? Doesn’t make sense. Putin would never agree to that if he thought it would actually happen.

I believe when she said “ally country,” she was referring to the United States.

So, allies will have to always have a QRF on alert and ready to go at 24 hours notice? Is that going to be sustainable?

    17. Aggravating_Exit2445 on

Taking a page from Trump’s book. He was going to stop the war in 24 hours. Now if Russia invades again, they’ll send troops in 24 hours!

If they won’t send troops now when Russia is actually invading and occupying Ukraine, what makes you think that they will send any troops when Russia invades in the future?

These guys will say anything to get Ukraine to give up land to Russia and surrender.

    18. Russia will just keep using „militias“ (aka Russian soldiers without uniforms) to claim more land from Ukraine and other neighbors

    19. doxxingyourself on

We could have done that the last time. Biden told us weeks in advance. But we didn’t.

    20. It takes MONTHS!!!!!!! To rally armor and troops to any front. Just looks at the history of any build up Prior to invasion into Crimea (Ukraine) and Ukrainian Current soil. This also includes build up near Poland, Finland and Sweden border.

    21. RastamonGanja on

Lmao That’s what they said in the Budapest Memorandum signed several decades ago and we all saw how well that turned out…. Pass.

    22. RootbeerninjaII on

This will play out just how France and Britain guaranteed Polish independence.

    23. Prepare and publicize an aggressive counterattack to any more Putin aggression. Ask Krasnov to be a go between.

    24. >would require Ukraine’s allies to decide within 24 hours of a renewed Russian attack whether or not to commit troops

Spoiler: The decision would be no

The framework needs to mandate the commitment of troops, at least. And that’s a low bar.

Otherwise the signal is clear and Russia **will** call their bluff.

    25. Basement_Chicken on

And what if they don’t send the troops? If they elect Trump-like politicians who change their mind or demand further concessions from Ukraine in exchange for the „pinkie promise“.

    26. Inevitable_Butthole on

If you want permanent peace you’ll position 1000 NATO troops permanently in Ukraines western border

    27. KiwiDanelaw on

Yeah no. If there aren’t boots on the ground, stationed near the frontlines. These „agreements“ mean fuck all and everyone of these dipshits know it. They only hope the next war doesn’t break out before their next election.

    28. LV426acheron on

Why not just send troops now?

A coalition of European (and maybe American?) troops should just directly intervene and push Russia out of Ukraine.

    29. The only lasting peace for all of us is a defeated Russia and Ukrainian territorial integrity restored.

Russia will go back and triple down on what they actually do best which is their misinformation campaigns. Flooding our social media and turning us all on each other even more.

    30. There should be either:

      A) Full NATO membership for Ukraine

      or

      B) A militarized DMZ with western troops

    31. priestsboytoy on

Ukraine had that deal with the US. Put boots there until Ukraine is replinishes its military

    32. Yeah, and a kid I knew in college once told me he’d have my back in any scuffle without hesitation.

Shocker, the one and only time I needed him he was gone from the scene faster than Usain Bolt.

The only real question is what does Ukraine feel comfortable with. Does Zelensky believe them or not.
