This article looks at the growing use of AI in fast food drive-thrus and the glitches that are already happening. It raises questions about what the future of customer service looks like if AI systems become the norm, and how much tolerance people will have for mistakes when no human is there to fix them. The discussion could touch on labor, automation, and whether this shift is sustainable in the long run.

How do we feel about AI in roles like this?

Recently discovered one near me. Managed to mess up my order in a way I didn’t think was possible.

The only way to fix this, in my mind, is to make companies who use these systems financially liable for them.

That will make them back off.

    4. fun fact… remember when you would let sound hound access you microphone to find what song was playing around you? they used all of that data as training for the ai that now controls most fast food ordering kiosks.

    5. Bojangles is the same.

My question is how can they possibly be this bad? This should be an easy task at this point

I can’t believe anyone even orders directly at the box anymore. I order through an app any time I get fast food these days. AI is pretty good at understanding a name or number
