      Trump during the talks with Zelenskyy appeared to act with surprise and interest when he heard a country can postpone its elections due to a war and now Trump is ordering the military to Venezuela to fight his boogeyman gang, a gang which by this point according to Trump and the DHS has more officers and soldiers than it even had members to begin with

      I think we all know where this is going, a „War on Drugs“ where he has troops attack Venezuela then portrays it as a „War“ so he can pass his various emergency powers. A „War“ where he knows he enemy is close enough to make the operations cheap to carry out yet against an enemy which will not fight back

      The problem with trying to kill a fly with a hammer is that the fly is much more nimble. Just the way embedded cartels would be vs. overwhelming US naval power. Sort of like the IDF looks stupid trying to wipe out the bad guys in Gaza. Craters in neighborhoods is never a good look.

      I get that drugs are kind of a problem.
      The cost of sending a Destroyer out to a coast is probably a ton more than the cost to run drug treatment centers, but I might be talking out my ass.
      Google tells me its about 220k a day to run one of those bad boys. Article says 3 vessels and for months at a time.
      Say 3 months, 90 days, 650k a day. That comes out to $58,500,000.

      I am CERTAIN our tax dollars would be better spent.

      It’s a show. This dude mobilized our own national guard to the city he “works” in. A city that is nowhere near the most dangerous as far as crime is concerned. It’s all a farce to make him look tough despite doing absolutely nothing for any American.
