That’s true for most of Europe if you shop at discounts?
Now show me 60 GBP of groceries at M&S, it’s gotta be about two apples and a half a chicken breast.
Is this good or bad?
Oil, sushi, smoked salmon, coffee, raspberries and blueberries make it extra expensive… Those are not the type of groceries I buy often!
*Edit:* looking at the receipt, I see kiwi’s now as well… And though the raspberries and blueberries are definitely cheaper than in the Netherlands, still: the price of 6 kiwis and 2 tiny portions of berries is £ 6.58 (€ 7,61)! You could also have gotten multiple kilos of apples for it. Fills you up a lot better…
That would easily be €100+ in Serbia.
That honestly looks like a lot of food for the buck.
As someone who shops at Aldi. A lot of this except for the basics (banana, milk, spinach) is the most expensive stuff you can possibly buy. Sushi, the most expensive bagels, quorn, the most expensive noodles, etc.
I genuinely fill up a hiking rucksack for £25.
Seems reasonable, especially with the more expensive stuff. For some godawful reason, blueberries have been steep in price this year.
Good on the Tofu (I’ve been using it as a substitute, can’t beat the €2.19/400g compared to anything meaty).
Finally, praised be Moser Roth choc. The Lindt for people not made of money.
I wish I had a reason to ever go and do proper shopping to show what we would bring home at a given price point here in NL.

That’s crazy good value for money.
This feels like every other Aldi customer in Europe subsidize the UK with their payments. Why the hell does like 70% of the stuff costs like half the price i have to pay in the country that literally exported Aldi?
I just buy like eggs, honey ,oatmeal and meat my typical grocery trip is maybe 40 euros in belgium

You do have a lot of pre-made meals and those are insanely cost ineficient

The tofu from there is great! Pretty reasonable too
Just the cheese in Canada would be 12 bucks or 7.5 euros.
Man we are getting hosed on grocery prices in Canada.
Pretty sure in a German Aldi this would be more expensive.
As a disabled man, I would rather shop somewhere where they actually pack your stuff and sometimes even help you with it rather than just scanning and basically throwing it at you /s
