Ein männlicher Polizeichef aus dem Machida -Bezirk ist nach einem Verweis zurückgetreten, weil er eine untergeordnete weibliche Bemerkungen sexuell belästigte. Die Polizeibehörde in Tokio hat am 7. Juli den Verweis herausgegeben, und der 59-jährige Polizeichef trat am 18. Juli zurück. Laut hochrangigen Beamten machte der Chef während eines sozialen Treffens im April unangemessene Kommentare, was darauf hindeutet, dass weibliche Beamte, die in einem Schlafsaal lebten, mit „Brautausbildung“ zu kämpfen hatten, weil sie ihre eigenen Mahlzeiten nicht kocht und die Erwähnung der Ablehnung der Geburtsrate erwähnen würde. Der Vorfall wurde nach einem anonymen Hinweis ans Licht. Berichten zufolge bedauerte der Chef und erklärte, er habe beabsichtigt, in seinen Interaktionen mit Mitarbeitern vorsichtig zu sein.

Birthrates are declining because of:
1. Rising living costs, no optimistic view of future where there is wage growth
2. Unlike their previous generation, younger Japanese are more neurotic and overthink about everything that in the process they get demotivated
3. Availability of anime dolls to play with for otaku men
4. Women don’t want to marry after seeing stories of husbands not sharing responsibilities and leaving every housework to the wife
5. Women want to work and have children at the same time, there are workplaces where this kind of mindset is treated harshly by the management.
6. Rising costs of childbirth and childcare and tuition costs. Due to this many women are opting for (5.) like I said, but many companies sadly don’t encourage this.
