Bei einem nationalen Gouverneurssitzen Ende Juli in Aomori City schlug Shizuoka -Gouverneur Heita Kawakatsu eine Politik vor, um das Koexistenz mit Ausländern zu fördern, was zu einer Gegenreaktion führte. Am Morgen des 18. hatte die Präfekturregierung rund 200 kritische E -Mails und Anrufe erhalten. Viele äußerten Bedenken, dass Steuergelder für Ausländerunterstützung verwendet und die Vernachlässigung japanischer Bürger wahrgenommen wurde.
Der Vorschlag von Gouverneur Kawakatsu, dass er ein Projektteam zur Entwicklung leitete, betonte, dass Sprachbildung und Lebensunterhalt für ausländische Bewohner den lokalen Regierungen überlassen wurden. Der Vorschlag fordert die nationale Regierung auf, Ausländer nicht nur als Arbeitnehmer, sondern als Bewohner zu sehen, die sich für ein umfassendes Grundgesetz und eine führende Organisation für multikulturelle Politik einsetzen.
Ein Vertreter der Abteilung für multikulturelle Angelegenheiten der Präfektur äußerte sich besorgt darüber, dass die Ablehnung einer multikulturellen Gesellschaft zu Fremdenfeindlichkeit führen könnte.

200 emails and phone calls is gladly low. Also that is probably many times the same person making the email and calls.
How many people live in Shizuoka? – His office got 200 (!!!) mails against his proposal. The problem in Japan is that the many who think his proposal is good, stay silent.
The governor should answer those people that foreigners also pay large amounts of taxes and social insurance money to support Japanese people.
There needs to be a vision to convince the people that multiculturalism will benefit the locals. Not in some poetic, moralistic verses but using numbers and logic. Something like, „We will provide free language lessons to foreigners. This would increase employability and result in the re-opening of 3 supermarkets that had to closed down“. Of course the government would have to double-down on the promises but without this kind of commitment to using tax money benefiting everyone, of course it’s just going to look like freebies for foreigners while locals get nothing
Would be nice if they abolished tax as well as policies benefitting foreigners. I pay way too much for health insurance that I barely use.
