I honestly don’t feel that NATO member countries with boots on the ground is even an escalation given NK involvement. I do get that there’s no political appetite which is due to no serious domestic appetite. It’s sad but that alone really makes me feel that Ukraines hand will be forced and an ugly/cruel deal with the devil will be struck.
Unless German, French and Polish armies arrive in Ukraine I can’t see anything changing a positive direction.
Ukraine is in a very tight spot – their manpower problems are seriously beginning to bite, especially since they refuse to lower the age of conscription to yield more troops. The Russians keep finding vatniks stupid enough to sign up for the meat grinder. The recent Russian breakthrough near Pokrovsk demonstrates that the Ukrainians lack the men to properly field their trenches and rely too much on drones to make up the difference.
But how can you make a deal with someone, especially on something so important, when you know full well they will disregard it at the earliest opportunity? Imagine Collins signing the Anglo-Irish Treaty, knowing full well the Brits hadn’t taken their eyes off Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan? Current Russian demands on Donetsk include Ukraine’s primary defensive line, which is not at all a coincidence. They want to kneecap and neuter Ukraine’s ability to resist when they come back.
Trump knows Putin is full of shit when he talks about peace; all he wants is a promise from Vlad to delay round three until Trump’s out of office so it can be somebody else’s problem.

It’s embarrassing, governments are toeing the exact same fucking line that they did with hitler. Appeasement until it affects you.
As soon as North Korean troops were detected nato should’ve been sent in. It’s as simple as that.
And if we remain as cowardly as we have been, Ukraine won’t have any options. Fucking wonderful.
