      I truly I’m struggling to understand why and individual gets blasted for repeating readily available information. Like it’s such a strange way to hide something. Like its like arresting someone for reading the bible out loud but then not making the bible itself illegal. What exactly is the motive here?

      This goes beyond left & right. There is clearly a very strange stance here.

      IQ almost certainly is effected by socioeconomic status.

      I mean not almost certainly, it is.

      Up to a certain point. The more you don’t have to worry about the basic necessities (shelter, food, etc…) the higher your IQ is.

      It’s why things like school lunch and breakfast programs are so important. If a kid is worrying about his or her next meal, they just won’t be able to perform and learn.

      Genes are not the reason for lower testing achievement – this guy might be expert in biology, but he clearly doesn’t understand how testing works in psychology (and what are the variables behind lower achievement of some groups).

      It’s not a coverup. IQ is not a good show of intelligence. It basically measures how much school you’ve had and payed attention during. Wealth is a much better corollary to IQ, and with how the great powers siphoned wealth out of Africa you can see why numbers might be lower.

      China routinely scores higher during these tests. Do you think that’s because of the growing middle class that puts a lot of emphasis on schooling and homework? Or is East Asia the true land of the Ubermench?

      Also what scale is that using? Average IQ for a human is 100, an IQ of 45 basically puts you at the level of drooling in a bed all day and needing someone to change your nappy.

      When you learn this history of the Nobel Prize this will not be so surprising. Nobel invented the prize to repair his public image. The prize is nothing more than PR and mostly for shitty people. So it makes nothing but sense that they wouldn’t want the bad press of this to be associated to them as the Nobel Prize is nothing but press and has no substance behind it in the first place.

      Mentioning race vs intelligence goes against the Current Thing Hive Mind, hence cancellation.

      After all those billions invested in sub-saharan Africa, I tend of believe Watson hypothesis. After all, they weren’t even able to invent the wheel or a writing system.

      Selective breeding works on every species on the planet. However, the concept in humans is incredibly considered incredibly racist.

      Because it’s not genes but overall economic development leading to better education. A Sudanese kid raised in America will have equivalent intelligence to a normal kid vs in the Sudan when the opportunity doesn’t present itself.

      There’s a reason being woke is important. You bring people who may not have opportunities into the spotlight and let them grow instead of the default white kid

      The lack of iodine for decades is a huge contributing factor to this result.

      Also I tests hinge on western knowledge, and most can only be done in English. So I’m not even clear how these numbers were collected or how the tests were performed.

      Different environments rewarded different kinds of intelligence. Europe favored long-term planning for winters, while Africa favored adaptability and ecological knowledge in a year-round climate. Bugger faster stronger survived in Africa. Strategy survived in Europe.

      Okay, do you see the leap in logic you just made? Saying race affects your IQ is not the same as saying black majority countries have a lower IQ on average. I’m not even sure by what mechanism you propose race affects the brain.

      IQ is likely mostly environmental anyway. That worldwide IQ scores rose over time in the 20th century is a good indicator of this.

      An IQ test contains questions about mathematics and language, two things which are honed through education, nobody is born with an understanding of either at a genetic level. So to assert that IQ is genetic is beyond asinine. Add to that spatial reasoning, another aspect of the test that people can become better at via practice and education – even video games have been proven to be a boon towards one’s spatial abilities.

      Are there certain factors that can determine someone’s IQ that might be genetic? Sure. For example, someone with a physical handicap will perform lower. Does that mean they’re stupid? No. It could be that they don’t have the speed required to do certain tasks during the test as quickly as is necessary; regardless of the fact that they might be able to complete the task.

      The whole argument around IQ and race, hell, even IQ in general is so dumb.

      Not sure why the focus on black people – I’d say IQ is genetic for all people, just like you know, everything else about ourselves. Sure we can mold and shape ourselves some, but we’re all dealt some cards and have to deal with that.

      If we did physical tests, like speed,endurance and strength, would Africans also have the Lowest scores, based on genetics?

      I don’t know if there’s any actual science behind this claim, nor I care about it. It sure seems to me as a gross generalization. The only thing I know is that Liberia has to be one of the dumbest country in the world, so at least that piece of data checks out for me.

      Thats white supremacy. Lets see a western country BORN whites vs blacks iq tests and i bet they avarage the same, america does not count since black people are more poor there
