    1. Turns out anyone who was saying Air Canada was waiting for the Liberals to intervene was correct…

Should/shouldn’t is a very debatable topic.

      But

“the strike is rapidly impacting the Canadian economy,” the minister added.

No it is not. Lots of points to validate their choices, but this is pure fabrication

This is not impacting the economy in any meaningful way. It is having huge impacts on people for sure.

Air Canada is going to walk away from this without paying their employees jack.

CEO is going to make a fat 8 figure bonus with the successful $500 million share buybacks the company made!

Love seeing our government reward corporations and conveniently try to gather public pity while doing it.

    4. Feds showing they don’t appreciate the process of striking to get a fair deal.
They will turn around and give themselves a raise now.

As someone who has a flight in 5 days this is a huge relief. Still crazy that Air Canada (and other airlines) don’t pay staff until they’re in the air.

Hopefully the binding arbitration results in a fair deal for the employees

This should come as no surprise to anyone, big corp wins again. Cupe FA union would be smart to tell the minister and AC to go fuck themselves and stay off the job. This was ACs plan all along, there was no way in hell the govt was going to allow the airline to come to a standstill. Employees get f’ed over yet again while AC execs. Sit back laughing and high diving each other.

    7. The Government looking out for Air Canada instead of employees not getting paid for time worked is disgusting.

    8. Air Canada doesn’t see these workers as essential but needs to government to intervene to get them back to work so they can gouge them and their customers.

Fuckers. No matter who is in power, just remember, they are all corporate shills.

In the span on 3 weeks, they all somehow made the same decision to call private and public sectors back to work. The traffic was unbearable before this mandate to come back 4-5 days.

Now they will spend billions on a tunnel or more lanes and grease their pockets.
