How many days into this presidency and we’re still waiting on that deal to end this war?

And he wants a peace prize?

Yea, no surprise there. He’s a dictator. Who thought he would take ANY reasonable deal offered to him?
He is not a reasonable or trustworthy actor and he never will be. Its why stopping him at all costs is a global issue.

I’m surprised Putin is ~~offering to withdraw~~ from Zaporizhzhia and Kherson.

EDIT: never mind he’s only offering to freeze the lines there, not to actually withdraw his forces from those oblasts.

Why are these summits happening without Ukraine?

The war is between them and Russia. Ukraine should be able to have a spot at the table to determine what security needs and land disputes to make.

I’m European, and I’m sick and tired of Europe complaining but doing nothing.

Either we can shut up and take it, or we can actually do something.

We all know what Putin wants. It hasn’t changed and will not change. Trump is just inserting himself to get a Nobel Peace Prize he so desperately craves.

Of course Zelensky will say no and Trump will blame the war on Zelensky.

There is ZERO chance in hell that Putin will give Trump a win and let him gloat about ending the war. It’s NEVER going to happen.

He’s gonna demand all of Ukraine. He’s shown us over and over again that he will not stop.

    8. Trump couldn’t negotiate a bucket of sand even in the middle of a desert, let alone a peace agreement.

Realistically, Putin can’t compromise much considering that his 3 day war of glorious conquest has turned into a costly multi year war that has decimated the Russian military and other Russian infrastructure. Plus the massive cost of lives lost. He’s invested much and expects to have a ROI. His strong man leadership would be damaged irreparably if he’s forced to compromise. He won’t accept that easily.

That being said, I don’t want to see Putin have any win here at all. A stronger Russia is just gonna be a worse problem in the future. Giving Putin a win will embolden him to continue to rebuild the Soviet Union once his military is rebuilt.

I don’t have the right answer to this complicated problem but it seems to me that peace through strength is probably the only strategy that comes to the outcome I’d like to see. Sanctions on Russian oil to choke of Putin’s funding is just one part of the equation. We should be raising our support for Ukraine’s military. Give them the recourses to decisively turn the tide and push Russia back to where they belong.

    10. Inspect all baltic Shipping for sanctions violations and environmental dangers as old rusty Russian ships pollute the waters.

Paint over remaining EU f-16’s and send them with EU airforce pilots in civillian clothes… (Like Russia did in the Korean war)..

Form a EU government supported Foreign Legion, equipped by EU militaries, where service in it can be done by both retired volounteers, or via long term official leave from regular military duties, or by reservists etc. Russia has employed foreign mercenaries, why shouldn’t we do the same.

Destroy all remaining pibelines connections between Russia and the EU…

    11. Obviously I don’t think Ukraine should give up shit. But even if they were to entertain it, they should instantly get NATO membership in return. That is the bare minimum to even consider giving up land.

    12. His loser followers will somehow say this is a win for Epstein’s best friend and America.

Don’t get fooled, they still want all of Ukraine and as much Europe as they can get.

Putin is the kind of man trump wished he would be. Trump is the kind of man that Putin would throw out the window if he had the chance.

    15. Trump is such a pathetic loser. Putin is his boss. Republicans don’t care. They only want to make America a third world country controlled by oligarchs

That’s great detective work, it’s a „war“ because russia has seized sovereign territory from another nation…

The Trump/Putin meeting distracted the media for a few days from covering the Epstein files. Release the Epstein files!
