Typical Japanese media baiting for clicks by featuring China in the title when South Korea and Taiwan also had complaints about the visits. And a lot of the comments in this thread are…well I guess it was to be expected of people who so desperately want to be Japanese (even though you never will be) to subscribe to the anti-China rhetoric even though China does have a genuine grievance regarding the Yasukuni visits. And before someone calls me a CCP shill I know the government pushes a pretty heavy anti-Japan rhetoric and over politicizes the issue – it’s still an issue. Bringing up China’s actions against others is a straw man – we’re talking about how the Japanese state has claimed time and time again they’re “sincerely regretful” of their militaristic past only to then pull stuff like this where they visit a shrine honouring Class A war criminals. And on a final note, I’ve never seen critics of China’s complaints about the Yasukuni visits ever bring up the atrocities Korea and Taiwan committed against their own populations during the 20th century.
