I absolutely love this article. While the circumstances for Ukrainians coming to Ireland are tragic, the arrival of new cultures and ideas is what makes a city truly great.

It’s nice to see and reminds me of Polish people who have had a really positive impact in Ireland, especially in working-class areas, they set great examples. In a lot of towns, Polish families are a big part of the community now, and they always come across as hardworking, kind and community-focused. It’s honestly made a really good difference.

I want to give a personal example.
I am a Ukrainian from the city of Kupyansk, Kharkiv region. The city is practically destroyed.
Having been in occupation for half a year and survived, I got to Ireland.
Having adapted to the fact that again there are communications (light, gas, telephone, internet, water) and food, I studied PLC and now I have already received an offer in NCAD for a design course.
I didn’t start a business, but I got good grades and now I’m going to show myself in art.
I hope I can repay you Irish people in some way.
