They were being used near the front lines. I’m wondering if a lot of them were captured when Russians overran Ukrainian positions.
Wonder if that happened when elon turned them off?
Since these should all belong to Ukraine, doea Starlink offer a ‚find your portable receiver‘ program ‚find your phone‘ style? Seems like a good way to get free recon.
I hope they have a remote or self-detonate feature.

As suspicous they are of trump and musk I’d be afraid to use them they probably give away their info. better to pull an Israel and load them with charges for the Russians to find.
frankly, whitelisting known ukrainian terminals, once (or even periodically) and disabling everything else in broad sector around ukraine and south russia should be almost trivial. And it would seriously damage russian communications. And Musk is not doing that.
A working dish would be a high priority target on any battlefield, either for capture or destruction. Russians recently rounded up a lot of [peoples dishes](https://imi.org.ua/en/news/imi-source-russian-forces-in-luhansk-oblast-are-dismantling-ukrainian-satellite-dishes-under-the-i69677), I bet they picked up a few more from the *resident Ukrainians* there. It would need secure handshaking & enforcement to stop battlefield shenanigans …
… or just someone with empathy running the company
And you know Elon is complicit when Russians can still use the captured Starlink instead of being disabled.
