We need to cut Justin Trudeau’s social security programs, roll back his communist policies, and substantially cut taxes.
I do not support Trump’s attacks on immigrants and deployment of the National Guard. However, Trump is absolutely correct to eliminate welfare programs to reduce taxes.
The upper brackets should not subsidize the lower brackets. Everyone should pay their own way.
Can toss out the absolutely horrendous firearms confiscation/buyback program?
5 years in and nothing has happened. Hundreds of millions of tax dollars wasted with another couple hundred million budgeted.
It’s looking like the long gun registry again.
Almost all of them were poorly implemented.
As a somewhat tangential example, the Canada Infrastructure Bank is dangerously desperate to spend money just to spend it. Like, dealing with them is worse than dealing with the slimiest of private sector stakeholders. Completely immune to reality.
I can’t imagine any of the other big spending programs under Trudeau were much better. The mission is fine, but the execution matters.
If unlike his predecessor he doesn’t have a personal interest in the minister, Carney may well drop those programs.
It wasn’t just Trudeau. One of my former employers was heavily subsidized for decades by federal R&D tax credits, and the bar for innovation was set very low indeed.
