Excellent. It’s important for both sides of the story to be heard; and TIFF is literally about creative freedom without censorship. It would be incredibly ironic to censor because of a loud vocal minority.
Documentaries are a very important non-fiction form of artistic expression. I believe that documentaries on a wide range of topics including this one are good artistic entries for a film festival.
That said, we have 3 weeks to go before the TIFF, and my prediction is that this documentary is going to become a political lightning rod. I also predict we’re going to hear about protests and counter-protests regarding it’s inclusion, and that it will overshadow everything else in the lead-up to the festival.
I hope I’m wrong, but everything regarding that region becomes very political very quickly – I doubt this will be any different.
