    1. Can’t help think this will be counterproductive, and drive people to other viewing platforms – reducing advertising income even more

    2. Maybe they should have waited until after the vote on the Halbierungsinitiative to pull this stunt. This will drive more people to vote in favour.

      >then again, who is still watching TV anyways?

That’s the gist of it. In the era of youtube and netflix (for the older of us) people will definitely use replay tv. If you miss the the srf arena or whatever it’s called, you’ll have the need to record it in order to view it later.

    4. „Branchenlösung“ is a nice euphemism for cartel. This is a coordinated effort to worsen consumer experience. Time to cancel my BlueTV subscription. Their intentionally awful UI and crippled replay experience is already pissing me off big time. Putting ads in it is the final straw.

There’s unskippable ads in paid streaming subsciptions in some regions already. They are likely going to come to us too, first in lower tier subscriptions. Some have this already available. It’s not just TV.

Anyone who is under 30/40 probably doesn’t care about this and don’t even own a TV. On the internet there are many ways to block ads
