US States are pulling in approximately $4 billion every year from taxes on weed, and the legal weed industry employs around 440K people.
I don’t think this is going anywhere. There are approximately 10x more people working in the weed industry than there are people working as coal miners, and the Federal Government is not likely to fill States‘ tax revenue gap.

I knew his talks about declassification of weed to a lower level was nothing but talk. His alcohol, tobacco, pharmaceutical and private prison donors would be pissed if recreational cannabis was legal across the country. That’s less revenue for them to make.

This article’s title is misleading. Trump is looking to reschedule cannabis from 1 to 3 which would be a boon to state legal and medical programs. The title suggests he’s looking to crack down on legal marijuana which isn’t true

Am I reading this wrong? Or is the headline literally the exact opposite of what’s happening, according to the article, and Trump is considering making weed more available? This seems like a good thing.
The article seems to say that Trump wants to reschedule weed as a less serious drug, but that “MAGA hardliners“ are pushing back.
I mean, fuck Trump, but this doesn’t seem like a concern. To paraphrase its basically saying:
