Just before people freak out, these are Asian hornets not GIANT Asian hornets.
Asian hornets pose a threat to bees but they’re smaller than our native hornets.
Giant Asian Hornets are a different species and were the species nicknamed murder hornets. They’ve caused issues in the US but not yet taken a hold in Europe.
> The survey team has engaged extensively with businesses, local communities and stakeholders in the area to raise awareness on how to identify Asian Hornet. Beekeeping associations have been briefed and are playing their part. This sighting is the second verified identification of this invasive species in Ireland. The first identification was of a single individual from Dublin area during 2021 and was not associated with a wild viable population.
I don’t think that identification is going to be a problem. You’d shit yourself instantly on seeing one, which would be a dead giveaway

Anyone know how long can they interrogate him before charging him?

They need to check to see if there is a nest if these things get established here it would be disaster for our Bees and pollinators.
This would effect the cost of the food we eat and would cost farmers too.

Can we set the racists on them… get them to do something productive instead of prancing around in fancy dress or attacking minorities.
